I always forget how fun it is to be a kid every once in a while!
Watching the children run from exhibit to exhibit is so fun. The way their eyes light up when they learn something new or discover the actual size of their favorite animal! Their chattering inquiries..."Wow, I didn't know elephants were SO big." "That flamingo looks more orange than pink." "I've never seen that animial before!"
"...God said that it was good." Genesis 1:10,12,18,21,25. After the Master Creator finished creating the heavens, the earth, the beast, the fowl...he saw it was good. Why then, are we so amazed at the beauty and the majesty we see in His creation.
You know, after God created man, Genesis 1:31 says "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day."
How big are the smiles and the twinkles in the Creator's eyes when he looks at us?
I pray for days of wide-eyed wonder...even now!

The Sun Came Out
Tuesday we said good-bye to my Grandmother. She was a caring woman who loved Jesus with all her heart, as well as my Granddaddy, with whom she would have celebrated 61 years of marraige with in May. To honor her life, we held a Memorial Service and as people told stories of my grandmother, it was easy to see how she would be missed. Among the tears was laughter and rejoicing. Rejoicing that she is now pain free in the presence of her Savior.
When the Service began, it was gray and raining. It was fitting for the circumstances, but by the time we left the church, after being with family and dear friends...the sun came out and shone on the wet ground.
The day ended beautifully, and even though we are saddened, we are comforted by the Son, that is warm and shines down on our wet faces.
Even in hard times, there is evidence of God's Good and Perfect gifts; Family, Friends, Loved Ones, good food, old stories...and the sun!

Every Perfect and Good Gift
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above,
and cometh down from the Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning." James 1:17(KJV)
How AWESOME is that?! EVERY good and perfect gift is a reflection of God being intentional toward us. He is the "Father of lights", yet in him there are now SHADOWS...No strings, hidden agendas, manipulations. He simply loves us and chooses to bless those who love and follow after Him.
I managed to delete my prior blogs! Don't know how I managed to do that, but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes. I hope to be posting regularly from now on.
Don't forget to give God the glory, praise and honour for Every Perfect & Good Gift you receive!
